I was overwhelmed by the rough seas but managed to struggle ashore. Several large waves crashed over me and buried me under water, but I held my breath and was carried by the waves further up the beach until I reached a cliff. I climbed to safety at the top of the cliff but saw no sign of my companions in the water; I concluded they had drowned since the only remnants I saw were scattered personal items.
