Edwin Arlington Robinson was an American poet who won three Pulitzer Prizes. He was born in Maine in 1869 and had a difficult childhood. Robinson attended Harvard University in the 1890s and began publishing poetry. He struggled financially as a poet in New York but found success later in life, becoming a regular visitor to the MacDowell artist colony in New Hampshire.
