About this document
Progressive Die Design Fundamentals by Himanshu sharma is a document available to read on EtoBox.
Progressive dies perform cutting and forming operations simultaneously at multiple stations with each press stroke to produce a part. Stock is positioned using pilot holes and advanced through the die. Significant cost savings are realized with progressive dies for high volume production by combining operations. Proper part orientation, transport method, stock positioning, and number of progressions must be determined through tradeoffs considering part quality, tool life, and cost.
