What is Bahrain about?

The Bahraini court postponed the verdict in the retrial of 20 prominent opposition activists until September 4th. King Hamad addressed the nation and spoke of progress and good governance but did not directly mention the 17-month crisis. Protests erupted across Bahrain as police fired tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse protesters in Shiite villages. The court also postponed the verdict on 13 opposition figures charged with plotting to overthrow the regime until September 4th.
