What is News and Views about?

During an Immunocytochemistry meeting in Brussels in September 1993 it was agreed between a number of individuals and societies that it would be valuable for practising immunocytochemists to set up an informal Group or Club. The aims of the Club include the following: (1) circulation of information on courses and meetings throughout Europe, (2) promotion of education through small workshops and courses, (3) holding of annual symposia together with other organizations, (4) giving help to young students, and (5) seeking sponsorship for such activities. A core group has been established to set up the Club, which includes representatives from eight different countries, but it is not intended to set up a large formal organization. In order to operate with maximum efficiency and minimum bureaucracy, the Club is registered as a User Group with the Royal Microscopical Society solely for administrative support.
