Changes in technology and concomitant changes in industry structure dictate changes in the structure of collective bargaining. Similarly, technology causes changes in the occupational structure of the labour force and in the sectoral and industrial structure of employment, which dictate changes in organizations, and in approaches to collective bargaining.
