This study retrospectively analyzed the medical records of 535 lung cancer patients admitted to Persahabatan Hospital between 2004-2007. 167 patients (31.2%) had pleural effusions. The study found that the majority of patients were male, median age was 55, and the most common complaint was shortness of breath. Adenocarcinoma was the most common cell type identified.
