What is Saadia Rashi about?

Saadia Gaon and Rashi had differing views on the task of the lexicographer, with Saadia believing they should posit additional meanings to resolve contradictions, while Rashi felt words have one basic meaning. This difference reflects broader shifts in medieval biblical lexicology from meaning-maximalism to meaning-minimalism.
