Bevacizumab/carboplatin/paclitaxel Treatment failure, neuropathy and allergic reaction: 2 case reports In a case series, two women aged 57 years and 70 years were described, who developed neuropathy, allergic reaction or exhibited treatment failure following treatment with bevacizumab, paclitaxel or carboplatin for epithelial ovarian cancer [EOC; routes and outcomes not stated; not all dosages stated; time to reactions onsets not clearly stated]. Case 1: A 57-year-old woman exhibited treatment failure following treatment with bevacizumab, paclitaxel and carboplatin. She also developed neuropathy following treatment with paclitaxel. The woman, who had EOC, underwent total abdominal hysterectomy and a right salpingo-oophorectomy. In June 2016, she was hospitalised with abdominal distension, pain and a slight feeling of fullness after meals. She was diagnosed with left-sided ovarian cancer. She underwent left salpingo-oophorectomy, pelvic and para-aortic lymph node dissection and appendectomy. Histopathological findings revealed a stage II EOC with a high-grade serous subtype.
