About this document
Coffee-Cup Calorimeter Overview by Avegail Rivera is a document available to read on EtoBox.
A coffee cup calorimeter is a simple constant-pressure calorimeter constructed from two nested Styrofoam cups. It measures the change in enthalpy (ΔH) of a chemical reaction occurring in solution at constant pressure. The heat transferred to/from the solution is equal to ΔH. A coffee cup calorimeter is commonly used to measure ΔH of reactions in undergraduate chemistry labs. It provides an inexpensive way to determine heat effects of chemical processes.
