This study examines the relationship between temperature, tropical cyclones, and economic output in 28 Caribbean and Central American countries from 1970-2006. It finds that increases in surface temperature are associated with large reductions in total economic output, including non-agricultural industries. Specifically, a temporary 1°C increase in surface temperature is associated with a 2.5% reduction in economic output. The impacts of tropical cyclones are also estimated and removed from the temperature
