The SCS developed a dimensionless unit hydrograph (DUH) based on analysis of many watersheds, with dimensionless time and discharge axes. This DUH can be used to construct synthetic unit hydrographs for different watersheds. The SCS DUH consists of 37.5% of runoff volume before the peak, and the remaining volume after. This DUH can be approximated as a triangular unit hydrograph. The SCS also developed a simplified triangular unit hydrograph method using two parameters - time to peak (Tp) and peak discharge
