What is Social Support about?
The study examined whether social support moderates the relationship between stress and depression in university students. 632 students completed measures of perceived stress, social support, and depression. Hierarchical regression showed that social support moderated the association, with high stress students reporting higher depression than low stress students with low social support, but the impact of stress on depression was smaller for those with high social support.
