Ray Bradbury was an American author born in 1920 in Illinois. He had a fascination with adventure and fantasy genres from a young age and decided to become a writer. Some of his major works include Fahrenheit 451, The Martian Chronicles, and The Illustrated Man. Bradbury wrote well into his 80s and received a Pulitzer Prize in 2007, five years before he passed away in 2012 in California.
