This study investigates the vibration isolation performance of open trench barriers under impact loading through site experiments. The research highlights the effectiveness of trench depth and location on reducing ground-borne vibrations, demonstrating an average reduction of 50% in vibration amplitudes with a trench depth of 4.5 m. The findings suggest that open trench wave barriers can serve as an effective alternative for vibration control in urban areas affected by construction and traffic activities.
