Vein and greisen tin and tungsten deposits are found within or near highly evolved, rare metal-enriched granitic plutons. Vein deposits consist of quartz veins containing tungsten minerals like wolframite and cassiterite, while greisen deposits have disseminated cassiterite in quartz, mica, and fluorite. These deposit types range in size but can cluster over large regions, and are often associated with pelitic and arenaceous host rocks near the contacts or interiors of granitic cupolas.
