This white paper examines three open source web application vulnerability scanning tools (Vega, ZEB Proxy, and Paros) and one commercial tool (Netsparker) to compare their effectiveness at detecting vulnerabilities. The author conducted scans of sample web applications using default and custom policies for each tool.
