This document discusses a study that analyzed the effects of varying alkaline concentration on the lignocellulosic composition of dried ripe carabao mango peelings. Untreated peelings were found to contain high levels of extractives and lignin. Peelings were then treated with three concentrations of sodium hydroxide (NaOH): 0.6M, 0.8M, and 1.0M. Analysis found that 0.6M NaOH reduced extractives to 12.57% and acid-soluble lignin to 2.37%, while increasing holocellulose to 67.43% and alpha-cellulose to 38.59%
