What is Recent Advances in Gas Chromatography about?
## K. A. KELLER, Over half of this volume consists of a monograph on reversed-phase partition chromatography of inorganic ions. This monograph is excellent and contains alldata and references on the topic. One wonders, ho.wever, why this field is repprted in such detail. It is not. widely used and several good reviews (one by. the same authors) have appeared in 'the last few years. This ,is followed by an o excellent short, 'review by R. I?. W. SCOTT on the determination of optimum conditions in gas chromatography. A lot has been thought and said,on this topic, in which Dr. SCOTT is one of the experts. Then there is a review by WISHTA ANIB BOMSTRIN on lightly loaded glass beads, another by S. I?. CRAM on radiochemical separations by gas chromatography and finally one by ISSENBERG AND HORNSTEIN on the analysis of volatile, flavor components in foods. To sum up: ,A volume which every gas chromatographer should have, but it offers little to workers outside gas chromatography.
