About this document

HP SAP Implementation Challenges by waseem is a document available to read on EtoBox.

Hewlett-Packard underwent a large SAP ERP implementation in its largest North American division in 2004. While previous implementations had been successful, this one encountered technical glitches between the legacy and SAP systems that led to a 20% order backlog. This backlog cost HP $160 million in delayed orders and lost revenue as customers went to competitors. Though the technical issues were resolved in a few weeks, the business impact snowballed due to a lack of contingency planning for workarounds.
