This document describes volcanic rocks and tertiary carbonates dredged from the Cagayan Ridge and the southwest Sulu Sea in the Philippines. The volcanic rocks were analyzed using petrographic, geochemical, and potassium-argon dating methods. Basalt, basaltic andesite, andesite, and dacite were identified. In general, the basalts have a tholeiitic composition while other volcanic rocks from the Cagayan Ridge are predominantly calc-alkaline.
