What is Ateísmo na Antiguidade about?

As the title itself shows, we do not aim to complete a study that seeks for evidence to promote an atheistic identity in Antiquity, whether Classical or not. Here, we will discuss the possibility of the study of Atheism as a theme, by finding theoretical and methodological resources that we will analyze, and proposing several questions around this theme, with studies on Etymology, Ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia and Israel, as well as a hypothetical bridge to the Greek world. We will work with Portuguese words like ateu and deus, their etymology, and with theories about ancient beliefs, with mythology, cosmogony, translation issues, resulting in knowledge that will help us to dialogue with our research proposals, e.g. the universe of artistic activity, as well as skepticism and pessimism.
