What is Genetic Diversity of Durian Species Analysis about?

This study investigates the genetic diversity and relationships of durian species (Durio spp.) using in silico analysis of the Internal Transcribed Spacer (ITS) region. Sixteen ITS sequences were analyzed, revealing a high nucleotide diversity of 0.065 and the presence of mutations, with D. zibethinus closely related to D. lowianus. The findings provide valuable data for durian conservation and breeding programs, particularly in Indonesia.
