Panuveitis, iridis rubeosis re-activation and cystoid macular oedema: case report A 17-year-old boy developed severe panuveitis, iridis rubeosis re-activation and cystoid macular oedema following vaccination with tozinameran for immunization against COVID-19.The boy received tozinameran vaccine [BNT162b2; dosage and route not stated] in June 2021. He had past history of severe uveitis in his left eye, which was diagnosed in November 2016. Also, he had suffered from retinal vein occlusion and iridis rubeosis. He had received methotrexate, adalimumab and mycophenolate mofetil which was discontinued due to unspecified adverse effects. Also, he had received prednisolone acetate. The next day after administration of tozinameran vaccine, he contacted ophthalmological unit with signs of severe uveitis and sudden visual loss in his left eye. Best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) was found to be 20/16 in the right and 20/ 500 in the left eye. Corneal precipitates, aqueous cells (50 cells/slit), fibrin development in the anterior chamber, iridis rubeosis, vitreous cells (16-25 cells/slit) and cystoid macular oedema were all noted.
