This randomized controlled trial compared the efficacy of low-dose weekly intravenous iron sucrose with daily oral iron for treating iron deficiency anemia in late pregnancy. Results showed that intravenous iron sucrose significantly increased serum ferritin levels compared to oral iron, although both methods similarly raised hemoglobin levels by delivery. No serious side effects were reported, and both groups had comparable infant birth weights.
