What is Fracture Analysis in Gachsaran Field about?

This study analyzed fractures in the Gachsaran oil field in Iran using image log data. Longitudinal and oblique fractures were most common, with longitudinal fractures parallel to minimum stress. Transverse fractures were perpendicular to the regional stress near major faults. Fracture intensity was highest near major faults and in the northern flank. Fracture porosity ranged from 0-7% and permeability from 0-6000 md. The study characterized fractures to better understand fluid flow in the reservoir.
