What is Anatomy of the Laryngeal Cavity about?

The laryngeal cavity begins at the laryngeal inlet and ends at the lower border of the cricoid cartilage. It is divided into 3 compartments by 2 pairs of folds: the vestibular folds and the vocal folds. The vocal folds contain the vocal ligament and vocalis muscle. The glottis is the narrowest part of the laryngeal cavity, located between the vocal folds. The larynx in children is positioned higher in the neck and is smaller than the adult larynx.
