1) An entropy-stabilized oxide ceramic of Mg0.2Ni0.2Co0.2Cu0.2Zn0.2O was successfully synthesized using reaction assisted flash sintering at room temperature in just a few seconds. 2) During flash sintering, a critical electric field significantly accelerated the phase transition of the starting materials into a single rocksalt phase. 3) This demonstrates that reaction assisted flash sintering can fabricate entropy-stabilized oxides with new compositions much faster than conventional sintering techniques
