What is Curriculum and Identity Options about?
The concept of identity options has been significant in educational scholarship. It has, for example, powerfully foregrounded the need to value learners' cultural, linguistic, and epistemic resources in curriculum-making. It has also promoted consideration of how curricula are lived or experienced by learners and with what effects on their sense of self in the world. This article centers on identity options to consider identity as a concept and its relationship to curriculum. It does so through a review of pertinent literature, which we have organized through three major sections: early curriculum studies, the reconceptualization of curriculum, and posthumanities.
