Class I malocclusion is the most common type of malocclusion. It involves normally positioned molars but misaligned anterior teeth. Two measures are used to quantify anterior tooth alignment - tooth size-arch length discrepancies (TSALD) and the irregularity index (IIRREG). IIRREG only explains part of the variation in TSALD.
