This document describes two cases of death by cyanide poisoning from ingesting a traditional herbal slimming drink called Jamu in Indonesia. The first victim, a 30-year-old woman, convulsed and died after drinking the Jamu. Her 17-year-old brother also convulsed and died after tasting a small amount. An autopsy found cyanide in tissue samples from both victims, but not in a control sample. The deaths were determined to be homicide by cyanide poisoning.
