The author moved from Korea to the USA at age 14 and experienced culture shock. Going to supermarkets was exciting but foods were unfamiliar and everything seemed much bigger. Attending high school was the biggest shock as American girls looked older with makeup and hair dye, and attending a co-ed school was new.
