Minnearo, a Loarran changer, commits suicide by jumping into the ocean. His friends Fless and Asterrea laugh it off as a common occurrence, but their friend Pur sees it as an opportunity. Pur convinces the others to take revenge on Minnearo by doing something unprecedented - creating a lasting positive change in their world, rather than simply avenging his death. However, this would require sacrificing all of their remaining life cycles.
