Guillain-Barré Syndrome Overview by alma baterina is a document available to read on EtoBox.
Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) is a rare disorder where the immune system attacks the peripheral nervous system, causing muscle weakness and tingling sensations. Early symptoms usually start in the feet and legs and ascend to the upper body. Most cases fully recover, but some experience long-term weakness or paralysis. There is no cure, but plasma exchange and immunoglobulin therapy can speed recovery and reduce severity by removing damaging antibodies.
