Ramu is a doctor who lies to his friend Gopal about the seriousness of his illness in order to comfort him. Though dishonesty goes against his principles as a doctor, Ramu is emotionally attached to Gopal and does not want him to worry. When Ramu expects Gopal to have died overnight, he is surprised to find that Gopal has survived and is improving. Ramu remains uncertain how Gopal recovered but is ultimately relieved that his lie did not undermine the trust of his patients or friendship with Gopal.
