This study evaluates two methods for detecting oceanic thermal fronts from satellite-derived sea surface temperature data in the Northern Indian Ocean: a gradient-based method and a histogram-based edge detection technique. Thermal fronts were identified using high-resolution SST observations from INSAT, MODIS, and GHRSST datasets.
