What is Sujchay Village Historical Overview about?

The village of Sujchay was small in 1870, with isolated houses and few inhabitants. In 1871, General Justo Rufino Barrios won a successful battle against the government army on the hill now called Colina de la Libertad, with the help of the neighbors of Sujchay. After his victory, Barrios rewarded the locals and the area became a historical site and cultural heritage of Guatemala. Today, Sujchay has expanded and divided.
