This study aimed to isolate and identify spoilage-causing microorganisms in Indian mackerel fish (Rastrelliger kanagurta). Samples were collected from a fishery center in Tamil Nadu, India. Isolation was done using pour plate and serial dilution methods. The isolated bacteria included Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas florescence, Escherichia coli, Vibrio cholerae and Salmonella typhi.
