What is HTS Satellite Backhaul for 4G LTE about?

This document discusses using high throughput satellites (HTS) for 4G LTE backhaul. It notes that while only about 1% of base stations currently use satellite backhaul, HTS could enable more cost-effective support of remote areas that lack terrestrial connectivity. The challenges of supporting 4G/LTE protocols and quality of experience over satellite are discussed. Advances in modem technology, wireless link optimization, and increased HTS capacity could help address these challenges and make satellite a mo
