What is Computer-Aided Drug Design Overview about?

Computer-aided drug design (CADD) uses computational modeling techniques to help design drug molecules that will bind to specific biomolecular targets. CADD approaches include structure-based drug design which relies on knowledge of the 3D structure of biological targets, and ligand-based drug design which relies on knowledge of molecules that are already known to bind to the target. Molecular modeling methods used in CADD include molecular mechanics, molecular dynamics, and quantum mechanics approaches.
