About this document

Low Heat Portland Cement Overview by Nurdiana Aj is a document available to read on EtoBox.

Low heat Portland cement (Type IV) is used where minimizing heat generation from hydration is important. It develops strength more slowly than Type I cement. It has lower levels of C3S and C3A and higher levels of C2S compared to regular cement. Type IV cement is suitable for uses like mass concrete structures, marine concrete, and applications requiring durability. However, it is not commonly stocked and similar properties can now be achieved using blended cements.
