What is Ovaprim Effects on Catfish Ovulation about?
This study examines the effects of Ovaprim, a commercial spawning inducer, on gonadotropin subunit gene expression and plasma steroid levels in the catfish Heteropneustes fossilis. Ovaprim injections induced time-dependent ovulation from 6 hours onwards, with 100% ovulation from 24 to 48 hours. Fertilization rates were highest from 6 to 18 hours.
