1. The helical sootblower cleans heating surfaces through a rotating lance tube with two offset Venturi nozzles that move in a helical pattern. 2. The lance tube is driven by a carriage that moves along a track beam and changes direction at the end of the flue to retract the lance tube. 3. Blowing medium is supplied through a mechanically operated valve and fixed feed tube. The valve is opened and closed based on the position of the lance tube carriage.
