What is Four-Way and Five-Way Valve Overview about?

A four-way valve has two working ports, a supply port, and an exhaust port. It allows air to flow from the supply source to one working port while simultaneously allowing air to flow from the other working port to the exhaust. When the valve is shifted, the flow paths are reversed. A five-way valve provides the same basic control as a four-way valve but adds a second supply or exhaust port. This allows the use of different pressures or easier exhaustion of the valve.
