Can I read Nitrogen Detection in Organic Compounds on EtoBox?

Nitrogen Detection in Organic Compounds by Afeefuddin Shaikh is a document available to read on EtoBox.

What is Nitrogen Detection in Organic Compounds about?

The document describes a test to detect nitrogen in an organic compound. A small amount of a sodium extract of the compound is made alkaline and mixed with ferrous sulfate solution. Upon boiling and acidification, the formation of Prussian blue or green coloration confirms the presence of nitrogen, as the carbon and nitrogen in the compound form sodium cyanide when fused with sodium, and this reacts with ferrous sulfate to form sodium ferrocyanide which further reacts to form the colored precipitate.
