Aiming for dominion status and self-rule, the party won 42 out of 104 seats in the 1923 Central Legislature elections but faced challenges such as internal divisions and a reliance on media for communication. Ultimately, the Swaraj Party merged with the Congress in 1930 after struggling to coordinate its legislative efforts
