What is Foot Stimulation Boosts Bladder Capacity about?

This study investigates the effects of electrical stimulation of somatic afferent nerves in the foot on bladder capacity in neurogenic bladder patients post-sigmoid cystoplasty. Results showed a significant increase in bladder capacity during stimulation, with average volumes rising from 285.4 ml to 361.1 ml after stimulation (p < 0.05). The findings suggest that foot stimulation can effectively delay bladder filling sensation and enhance bladder capacity in this patient population.
