This study evaluated the use of carbohydrate antigen (CA) 15-3 as a tumor marker for detecting and monitoring breast cancer. The study included 35 known breast cancer patients, 75 suspected cases, and 20 controls. CA 15-3 levels significantly decreased after treatment in known cases and were strongly correlated with biopsy results in suspected cases. CA 15-3 effectively detected breast cancer with 76.1% sensitivity and 100% specificity using a cutoff of 35 U/mL. The study demonstrated CA 15-3 is useful for
