- A C-130J aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff from Jalalabad Airfield, Afghanistan, killing all 11 people onboard. - During loading operations prior to takeoff, the mishap pilot placed a hard-shell night vision goggle case in front of the yoke, blocking movement of the flight controls. Neither pilot removed the case prior to takeoff. - Upon rotation, the blocked flight controls prevented the pilots from lowering the aircraft
