What is Flexural Performance of Laminated Bamboo about?

This study investigated the flexural performance of 20 laminated bamboo beam specimens. The beams displayed an initial elastic phase, non-linear deformation, and then brittle failure initiated by tension on the bottom side. The elastic moduli for compression and tension were the same. A tri-linear model is proposed to represent the load-strain behavior of the beams. The study found no obvious effect of beam width on ultimate strain or bending strength.
